Caroline Dell joined founder and investor Rana el Kaliouby on the Pioneers of AI podcast to talk about why most people's approach to professional networking isn't working — and what to do about it. She covers how Goodword works, why she left Chief to build it, and what it looks like to use AI to strengthen human relationships.

Rana puts it well: she has 30,000 LinkedIn connections (the platform maximum) and still can't reliably surface the right introduction when someone needs one. It's exactly what Goodword was built for — purposeful connections.

Caroline also shares her five tips for networking in a non-icky way. Her framing: "Go in as a human, not a networker. Nobody wants it to feel like a transaction." And on the AI angle, she's clear about where the technology belongs: "We don't want to automate relationships. We want to give people the context and the intelligence to show up."
